EPIKGO

The EPIKGO is marketed as an off-road hoverboard. It currently offers four models. Two designed for off-road riding and two designed for performance and doing tricks on the streets.

Its 8.5inch rubber wheel tires can ride over grass and gravel, but are less bulky than the Segway minipro. It’s also IP 56 certified which means you can get it wet without damaging it. (Don’t go submerging it in water though!) The larger standing platform is a real benefit, letting you have a wider stance and offering more stability.

In summary, the EpikGo are high-quality hoverboards, with a higher price tag to boot. But if you’re a serious rider, and want a reliable hoverboard which can handle extreme terrain, then this is the brand to go with.

Segway Minipro

The Segway is a well-known brand, and they decided to jump on the hoverboard bandwagon by producing the Segway Minipro. This was the first hoverboard to gain the UL 2272 in May 2016. The key thing that stands out about this hoverboard are the large 10.5” wheels, which make it a great choice for riding over rough terrain. It can go over gravel, grass and small cracks. It also has a knee support, so you can steer with more precision, which could help beginner riders but could also be a hindrance for advanced riders. Read more about this on our full Segway Minipro review. Compared to other hoverboards on the market, it’s a larger hoverboard with a higher price.
